A star-studded cast for an evening that promises to be unforgettable. Alessandro, the opera that Händel composed in 1726 to showcase the castrato Senesino and the rival divas Faustina Bordoni and Francesca Cuzzoni, has never been performed in Spain despite being one of the most celebrated works by the composer from Halle: a true gem of melodic invention and vocal virtuosity.

This year, the Peralada Festival opens its Easter edition with Il Cristo condannato by Antonio Caldara, composed in 1717 for the court of Vienna, where the composer served as vicekapellmeister under Emperor Charles VI (indeed, the same one who had previously been a claimant to the Spanish throne and who brought Caldara to Barcelona, where he premiered the first Italian opera on the Peninsula, Il più bel nome).

Vespres d’Arnadí continue to believe in the physical format, especially when it comes to preserving the musical heritage we have helped recover. During 2025 we recorded two CDs, both devoted to lost masterpieces that we are now proud to make available to music lovers and scholars.

Vespres d’Arnadí has been appointed ensemble-in-residence at the CNDM for the 25–26 season, with a commission to perform six concerts showcasing the richness of Baroque music —both vocal and instrumental— from a variety of perspectives.
