Carles Baguer (1768-1808) was an organist and composer closely linked to the city of Barcelona, where he built a solid career, especially in the field of religious music and keyboard music. Framed within Classicism, he drew inspiration from the Viennese style that was in vogue at the time and was greatly influenced by Haydn and Mozart. Although he achieved some recognition during his lifetime, particularly as the organist of Barcelona Cathedral, his work fell into oblivion… until now.

We are very grateful to the Peralada Festival for once again including us in its Easter edition, their third already! We take pride in having participated in all of them and in bringing to the Esglèsia del Carm​e inspiring projects that have allowed us to rescue from oblivion beautiful works that are performed less often than they deserve.

One of the great joys of our work is meeting vocal soloists in different projects and accompanying each other on this adventure that is making music. For this reason –and many others– we are especially delighted to take part in the concert on Jult 7th at the Palau de la Música Catalana with the Catalan soprano Serena Sáenz, who sang the title role in the oratorio La Giuditta (Scarlatti) in April 2023 during the first Easter edition of the Peralada Festival.​​

This Christmas, we’ve given ourselves a gift that we hope will bring you as much joy as it has brought us: the recording of the oratorio Giuseppe riconosciuto, by Domènec Terradellas. This marks the culmination of a project that began in August 2023 with the performance that opened the Festival de Torroella and continued with various concerts, including one at the Palau de la Música and one at the Auditorio Nacional.
