This season we once again have the privilege of performing regularly at the Palau de la Música Catalana, and what's more, doing so with truly exciting projects and partners in crime really worth the while!
The first event will be on October 24th with an evening that will simultaneously celebrate the 120th and 40th anniversaries of the Revista Musical Catalana. And while we’re celebrating, let's also honor the immense talent of Domènec Terradellas and his formidable oratorio Giuseppe riconosciuto, which we revived in 2023 at the Festival de Torroella. Fireworks, virtuosity and dreamlike voices in service of the finest Neapolitan style. Featuring Alicia Amo, Anna Alàs, Jorge Navarro, Roger Padullés, Mercedes Gancedo and Rafael Quirant.
For Vespres, Christmas is synonymous with Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons at the Palau. Under the direction of and with solo violin by our concertmaster, the formidable Farran Sylvan James, we’ll once again perform in the modernist hall, and we hope to fill it just like last year. Will you help us hang the “Sold Out” sign?
For our first visit to the Palau in 2025, in January, we are preparing another universal masterpiece that brings joy to share with as many people as possible: Händel’s Messiah, a festive season essential. We’ll perform it under the direction of Xavier Puig and with the voices of María Hinojosa, Marta Infante, Marc Sala and Guillem Batllori. The month after we will reunite with a young soprano who is no longer just a promise but a delightful reality, Serena Sáenz. Serena, who was our Giuditta at the 2023 Festival de Peralada (La Giuditta, by Alessandro Scarlatti), will offer a Baroque evening with works by Vivaldi and Händel, among others.
Finally, on April 26, we’ll make our contribution to the “Simfònics al Palau” series, organized by the Simfònica del Vallès, with a concert dedicated to Bach. For this occasion, we’ll offer you orchestral suites 2, 3, and 4, and the sophisticated Concerto for Two Violins (BWV 1043), a true technical challenge.
