For many music lovers, Christmas is synonymous with Handel’s Messiah, the famous oratorio the composer originally intended for Easter but which has become inseparable from the holiday season. Vespres d’Arnadí will contribute to the festive spirit with four performances conducted by Xavier Puig and featuring soloists Maria Hinojosa, Marta Infante, Marc Sala and Guillem Batllori.
Three of these concerts are particularly special because they are organized by the Associació Messies Participatiu. This means the stage will be filled with amateur singers who have devoted countless hours—sacrificing family time, rest, and leisure—to mastering the score. For us, it is both an honor and a pleasure to provide them with the best musical foundation to ensure their hard work shines brightly. The association’s choir (reaching up to 590 singers in some concerts!) will also be supported by various stage choirs, including the Cor Bruckner, the Cor de Cambra of the Auditori Enric Granados, and the Cor de Cambra de la Diputació de Girona.
The Participatory Messiahs will take us to the Auditori Enric Granados in Lleida (December 14th), the Auditori de Girona (December 15th), and the Auditori de Barcelona (December 19th). Additionally, we will perform a selection of the work's highlights with the Cor Bruckner at the Palau de la Música on December 22th.
Will you join us to sing “Hallelujah”?
